Theme: Daily Scripture
“There was also another young man of Bethlehem Juda, of the kindred thereof: and he was a Levite, and dwelt there.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Judges 17:7: “There was also another young man of Bethlehem Juda, of the kindred thereof: and he was a Levite, and dwelt there.”
Judges is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Judges 17:7. You said, “There was also another young man of Bethlehem Juda, of the kindred thereof: and he…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
