Theme: Peace
“And he offered libations, and poured the blood of the peace offerings, which he had offered, upon the altar.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with 2 Kings 16:13. Hear these words again: “And he offered libations, and poured the blood of the peace offerings, which he had offered, upon the altar.”
Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God. 2 Kings is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
Today's invitation under the theme of Peace is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through 2 Kings 16:13. You said, “And he offered libations, and poured the blood of the peace offerings, which he had…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
