Theme: Daily Scripture
“Upon this day shall be the expiation for you, and the cleansing from all your sins. You shall be cleansed before the Lord.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Leviticus 16:30: “Upon this day shall be the expiation for you, and the cleansing from all your sins. You shall be cleansed before the Lord.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. Leviticus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Leviticus 16:30 remain. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Leviticus 16:30 close to me. Let “Upon this day shall be the expiation for you, and the cleansing from all your sins.…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
