Catholic Verse of the Day

1 Corinthians 15:23

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Wednesday, August 30, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Faith

Faith

But every one in his own order: the firstfruits, Christ: then they that are of Christ, who have believed in his coming.

1 Corinthians 15:23

Reflection for Today

Pause with 1 Corinthians 15:23. Hear these words again: “But every one in his own order: the firstfruits, Christ: then they that are of Christ, who have believed in his coming.”

Belief grows less by argument alone and more by fidelity: returning to prayer, returning to Mass, returning to mercy. 1 Corinthians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In 1 Corinthians 15:23 I hear, “But every one in his own order: the firstfruits, Christ: then they that are of…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
