Let Luke 15:10 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “So I say to you, there shall be joy before the angels of God upon one sinner doing penance.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Luke does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer.
Today's invitation under the theme of Joy is simple and serious. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Luke 15:10 I hear, “So I say to you, there shall be joy before the angels of God upon one sinner doing…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
