Theme: Daily Scripture
“And when Jesus had passed away from thence, he came nigh the sea of Galilee: and going up into a mountain, he sat there.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Matthew 15:29: “And when Jesus had passed away from thence, he came nigh the sea of Galilee: and going up into a mountain, he sat there.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Matthew does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Matthew 15:29, let “And when Jesus had passed away from thence, he came nigh the sea of Galilee: and…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
