Theme: Family

Family

So the children of Israel seeing them fleeing, followed after them. And they went down sounding with trumpets and shouting after them.

Judith 15:3

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Judith 15:3: “So the children of Israel seeing them fleeing, followed after them. And they went down sounding with trumpets and shouting after them.”

Judith, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Judith 15:3. As I listen to “So the children of Israel seeing them fleeing, followed after them. And they went…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
