Let 2 Samuel 15:15 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And the king's servants said to him: Whatsoever our lord the king shall command, we thy servants will willingly execute.”
2 Samuel is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
Today's invitation under the theme of Work & Service is simple and serious. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep 2 Samuel 15:15 close to me. Let “And the king's servants said to him: Whatsoever our lord the king shall command, we…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
