Theme: Holy Spirit
“For he that speaketh in a tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man heareth. Yet by the Spirit he speaketh mysteries.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is 1 Corinthians 14:2: “For he that speaketh in a tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man heareth. Yet by the Spirit he speaketh mysteries.”
1 Corinthians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep 1 Corinthians 14:2 close to me. Let “For he that speaketh in a tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
