Catholic Verse of the Day

Luke 14:1

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Monday, July 24, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And it came to pass, when Jesus went into the house of one of the Pharisees, on the sabbath day, that they watched him.

Luke 14:1

Reflection for Today

Pause with Luke 14:1. Hear these words again: “And it came to pass, when Jesus went into the house of one of the Pharisees, on the sabbath day, that they watched him.”

The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. Luke does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Luke 14:1. As I listen to “And it came to pass, when Jesus went into the house of one of the Pharisees, on the…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
