Catholic Verse of the Day

Judith 14:5

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Friday, July 7, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And when you shall know that they are fleeing, go after them securely, for the Lord will destroy them under your feet.

Judith 14:5

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Judith 14:5: “And when you shall know that they are fleeing, go after them securely, for the Lord will destroy them under your feet.”

Judith, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Judith 14:5 close to me. Let “And when you shall know that they are fleeing, go after them securely, for the Lord…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
