The Church sets before us Judges 14:10: “So his father went down to the woman, and made a feast for his son Samson: for so the young men used to do.”
Judges is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Judges 14:10. As I listen to “So his father went down to the woman, and made a feast for his son Samson: for so…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
