And he shall pray for him before the Lord, and shall offer the sacrifice for sin. Then shall he immolate the holocaust.

Leviticus 14:19

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Leviticus 14:19: “And he shall pray for him before the Lord, and shall offer the sacrifice for sin. Then shall he immolate the holocaust.”

Prayer is where Scripture stops being information and becomes relationship. Even a short, honest conversation with God can reorder a crowded day. Leviticus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Leviticus 14:19 remain. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Leviticus 14:19, let “And he shall pray for him before the Lord, and shall offer the sacrifice for sin.…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
