Theme: Creation & Beginning
“For in those days shall be such tribulations as were not from the beginning of the creation which God created until now: neither shall be.”
Reflection for Today
Let Mark 13:19 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “For in those days shall be such tribulations as were not from the beginning of the creation which God created until now: neither shall be.”
Mark does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Mark 13:19 remain. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Mark 13:19. You said, “For in those days shall be such tribulations as were not from the beginning of the…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
