Catholic Verse of the Day

Hosea 13:4

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Friday, June 9, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

But I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt: and thou shalt know no God but me, and there is no saviour beside me.

Hosea 13:4

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Hosea 13:4: “But I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt: and thou shalt know no God but me, and there is no saviour beside me.”

In Hosea, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Hosea 13:4 I hear, “But I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt: and thou shalt know no God but me,…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
