Catholic Verse of the Day

Sirach 13:4

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Sunday, June 4, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Peace

Peace

The rich man hath done wrong, and yet he will fume: but the poor is wronged and must hold his peace.

Sirach 13:4

Reflection for Today

Pause with Sirach 13:4. Hear these words again: “The rich man hath done wrong, and yet he will fume: but the poor is wronged and must hold his peace.”

Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God. Sirach belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Sirach 13:4 remain. Name your loudest fear before God without editing it. Then ask for the peace of Christ, not the peace of perfect control.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Sirach 13:4. As I listen to “The rich man hath done wrong, and yet he will fume: but the poor is wronged and must…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
