Theme: Strength
“And when she had drawn it out, she took him by the hair of his head, and said: Strengthen me, O Lord God, at this hour.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Judith 13:9. Hear these words again: “And when she had drawn it out, she took him by the hair of his head, and said: Strengthen me, O Lord God, at this hour.”
Judith, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Judith 13:9 I hear, “And when she had drawn it out, she took him by the hair of his head, and said:…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
