Theme: Daily Scripture
“And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying: This is what the Lord did to me when I came forth out of Egypt.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Exodus 13:8: “And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying: This is what the Lord did to me when I came forth out of Egypt.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Exodus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Exodus 13:8 I hear, “And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying: This is what the Lord did to me…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
