Theme: Peace
“Deceit is in the heart of them that think evil things: but joy followeth them that take counsels of peace.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Proverbs 12:20. Hear these words again: “Deceit is in the heart of them that think evil things: but joy followeth them that take counsels of peace.”
Proverbs belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Proverbs 12:20 I hear, “Deceit is in the heart of them that think evil things: but joy followeth them that…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
