Theme: Gratitude
“And the two choirs of them that gave praise stood still at the house of God, and I and the half of the magistrates with me.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Nehemiah 12:39. Hear these words again: “And the two choirs of them that gave praise stood still at the house of God, and I and the half of the magistrates with me.”
Nehemiah is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.
Today's invitation under the theme of Gratitude is simple and serious. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Nehemiah 12:39, let “And the two choirs of them that gave praise stood still at the house of God, and I…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
