Let Daniel 11:32 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And such as deal wickedly against the covenant shall deceitfully dissemble: but the people that know their God shall prevail and succeed.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Daniel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Daniel 11:32. As I listen to “And such as deal wickedly against the covenant shall deceitfully dissemble: but the…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
