Catholic Verse of the Day

Isaiah 11:9

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Thursday, March 16, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Creation

They shall not hurt, nor shall they kill in all my holy mountain, for the earth is filled with the knowledge of the Lord, as the covering waters of the sea.

Isaiah 11:9

Reflection for Today

Let Isaiah 11:9 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “They shall not hurt, nor shall they kill in all my holy mountain, for the earth is filled with the knowledge of the Lord, as the covering waters of the sea.”

Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Isaiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Isaiah 11:9. As I listen to “They shall not hurt, nor shall they kill in all my holy mountain, for the earth is…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
