Theme: Daily Scripture

Hope

They answered him: The Lord, who heareth these things, he himself is mediator and witness that we will do as we have promised.

Judges 11:10

Reflection for Today

Pause with Judges 11:10. Hear these words again: “They answered him: The Lord, who heareth these things, he himself is mediator and witness that we will do as we have promised.”

Judges is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Judges 11:10 remain. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Judges 11:10. As I listen to “They answered him: The Lord, who heareth these things, he himself is mediator and…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
