Pause with Judges 11:10. Hear these words again: “They answered him: The Lord, who heareth these things, he himself is mediator and witness that we will do as we have promised.”
Judges is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.
