The Church sets before us Luke 10:11: “Even the very dust of your city that cleaveth to us, we wipe off against you. Yet know this, that the kingdom of God is at hand.”
Luke does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Luke 10:11. As I listen to “Even the very dust of your city that cleaveth to us, we wipe off against you. Yet…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
