Work & Service

And Saul said to his servant: Thy word is very good, come let us go. And they went into the city, where the man of God was.

1 Samuel 9:10

Reflection for Today

Let 1 Samuel 9:10 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And Saul said to his servant: Thy word is very good, come let us go. And they went into the city, where the man of God was.”

1 Samuel is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In 1 Samuel 9:10 I hear, “And Saul said to his servant: Thy word is very good, come let us go. And they went…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
