Theme: Prayer
“Pray ye to the Lord that the thunderings of God and the hail may cease: that I may let you go, and that ye may stay here no longer.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Exodus 9:28. Hear these words again: “Pray ye to the Lord that the thunderings of God and the hail may cease: that I may let you go, and that ye may stay here no longer.”
Exodus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Exodus 9:28 close to me. Let “Pray ye to the Lord that the thunderings of God and the hail may cease: that I may…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
