And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying: Peace, peace: when there was no peace.

Jeremiah 8:11

Reflection for Today

Pause with Jeremiah 8:11. Hear these words again: “And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying: Peace, peace: when there was no peace.”

Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God. In Jeremiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Jeremiah 8:11 close to me. Let “And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying:…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
