Sirach 8:6

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Tuesday, November 9, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Forgiveness & Mercy

Despise not a man that turneth away from sin, nor reproach him therewith: remember that we are all worthy of reproof.

Sirach 8:6

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Sirach 8:6: “Despise not a man that turneth away from sin, nor reproach him therewith: remember that we are all worthy of reproof.”

Sirach belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Sirach 8:6 I hear, “Despise not a man that turneth away from sin, nor reproach him therewith: remember…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
