Hosea 7:10

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Thursday, September 30, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Humility

Humility

And the pride of Israel shall be humbled before his face: and they have not returned to the Lord their God, nor have they sought him in all these.

Hosea 7:10

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Hosea 7:10: “And the pride of Israel shall be humbled before his face: and they have not returned to the Lord their God, nor have they sought him in all these.”

In Hosea, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

Today's invitation under the theme of Humility is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for speaking through Hosea 7:10. You said, “And the pride of Israel shall be humbled before his face: and they have not returned…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
