Theme: Daily Scripture
“And thou son of man, thus saith the Lord God to the land of Israel: The end is come, the end is come upon the four quarters of the land.”
Reflection for Today
Let Ezekiel 7:2 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And thou son of man, thus saith the Lord God to the land of Israel: The end is come, the end is come upon the four quarters of the land.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Ezekiel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Ezekiel 7:2, let “And thou son of man, thus saith the Lord God to the land of Israel: The end is come,…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
