Catholic Verse of the Day

Proverbs 7:23

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Tuesday, September 21, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Till the arrow pierce his liver: as if a bird should make haste to the snare, and knoweth not that his life is in danger.

Proverbs 7:23

Reflection for Today

Let Proverbs 7:23 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Till the arrow pierce his liver: as if a bird should make haste to the snare, and knoweth not that his life is in danger.”

Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Proverbs belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Proverbs 7:23 I hear, “Till the arrow pierce his liver: as if a bird should make haste to the snare, and…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
