Theme: Strength
“And I will receive you. And will be a Father to you: and you shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. ”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us 2 Corinthians 6:18: “And I will receive you. And will be a Father to you: and you shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
True strength in Scripture is often quiet. It is the courage to remain faithful when quitting would be easier. 2 Corinthians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through 2 Corinthians 6:18, let “And I will receive you. And will be a Father to you: and you shall be my sons and…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
