And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying: Peace, peace: and there was no peace.

Jeremiah 6:14

Reflection for Today

Let Jeremiah 6:14 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying: Peace, peace: and there was no peace.”

In Jeremiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Jeremiah 6:14, let “And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying:…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
