Catholic Verse of the Day

Isaiah 6:1

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Sunday, August 8, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

In the year that king Ozias died, I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne high and elevated: and his train filled the temple.

Isaiah 6:1

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Isaiah 6:1: “In the year that king Ozias died, I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne high and elevated: and his train filled the temple.”

Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Isaiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Isaiah 6:1 remain. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Isaiah 6:1 close to me. Let “In the year that king Ozias died, I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne high and…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
