Theme: Work & Service

Work & Service

Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity: for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.

Psalms 6:9

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Psalms 6:9: “Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity: for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.”

The Psalms have given voice to every mood of the believer: praise, tears, trust, and longing. What Israel prayed, the Church still sings. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Psalms 6:9 close to me. Let “Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity: for the Lord hath heard the voice of my…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
