Theme: Daily Scripture
“And he stood before the altar of the Lord, in presence of all the multitude of Israel, and stretched forth his hands.”
Reflection for Today
Let 2 Chronicles 6:12 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And he stood before the altar of the Lord, in presence of all the multitude of Israel, and stretched forth his hands.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. 2 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through 2 Chronicles 6:12, let “And he stood before the altar of the Lord, in presence of all the multitude of…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
