Catholic Verse of the Day

Ezekiel 5:5

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, June 19, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Thus saith the Lord God: This is Jerusalem, I have set her in the midst of the nations, and the countries round about her.

Ezekiel 5:5

Reflection for Today

Pause with Ezekiel 5:5. Hear these words again: “Thus saith the Lord God: This is Jerusalem, I have set her in the midst of the nations, and the countries round about her.”

In Ezekiel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Ezekiel 5:5. As I listen to “Thus saith the Lord God: This is Jerusalem, I have set her in the midst of the…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
