Let James 4:8 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Draw nigh to God: and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
James comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through James 4:8, let “Draw nigh to God: and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
