The Lord hath delivered me from every evil work and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom. To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is 2 Timothy 4:18: “The Lord hath delivered me from every evil work and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom. To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

2 Timothy comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

Today's invitation under the theme of Protection is simple and serious. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for speaking through 2 Timothy 4:18. You said, “The Lord hath delivered me from every evil work and will preserve me unto his…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
