Reflection for Today
Let 2 Corinthians 4:10 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Always bearing about in our body the mortification of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be made manifest in our bodies.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. 2 Corinthians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep 2 Corinthians 4:10 close to me. Let “Always bearing about in our body the mortification of Jesus, that the life also of…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
