Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Mark 4:39: “And rising up, he rebuked the wind, and said to the sea: Peace, be still. And the wind ceased: and there was made a great calm.”
Mark does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer. Peace is one of the first things anxiety steals. Christ does not deny our storms; He offers a peace that can remain even while the waves are still high.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Mark 4:39. As I listen to “And rising up, he rebuked the wind, and said to the sea: Peace, be still. And the…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
