Pause with Amos 4:3. Hear these words again: “And you shall go out at the breaches one over against the other, and you shall be cast forth into Armon, saith the Lord.”
In Amos, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.
