Theme: Family
“Now the enemies of Juda and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity were building a temple to the Lord the God of Israel.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Ezra 4:1: “Now the enemies of Juda and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity were building a temple to the Lord the God of Israel.”
Ezra is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Ezra 4:1. As I listen to “Now the enemies of Juda and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity were…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
