Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Judges 4:3: “And the children of Israel cried to the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots set with scythes and for twenty years had grievously oppressed them.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. Judges is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
Today's invitation under the theme of Family is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Judges 4:3 close to me. Let “And the children of Israel cried to the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots set…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
