Let Deuteronomy 4:12 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And the Lord spoke to you from the midst of the fire. You heard the voice of his words, but you saw not any form at all.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Deuteronomy is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
