Theme: Faith
“Moses answered, and said: They will not believe me, nor hear my voice, but they will say: The Lord hath not appeared to thee.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Exodus 4:1. Hear these words again: “Moses answered, and said: They will not believe me, nor hear my voice, but they will say: The Lord hath not appeared to thee.”
Exodus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Belief grows less by argument alone and more by fidelity: returning to prayer, returning to Mass, returning to mercy.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Exodus 4:1 I hear, “Moses answered, and said: They will not believe me, nor hear my voice, but they will…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
