1 John 3:9

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, March 20, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Forgiveness & Mercy

Whosoever is born of God committeth not sin: for his seed abideth in him. And he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 John 3:9

Reflection for Today

Let 1 John 3:9 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Whosoever is born of God committeth not sin: for his seed abideth in him. And he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”

1 John comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for speaking through 1 John 3:9. You said, “Whosoever is born of God committeth not sin: for his seed abideth in him. And he…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
