Reflection for Today
Let 1 Corinthians 3:19 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written: I will catch the wise in their own craftiness.”
A wise Catholic heart listens twice: once to Scripture, and once to the quiet prompting of conscience formed by the Church. 1 Corinthians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.
Today's invitation under the theme of Wisdom is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep 1 Corinthians 3:19 close to me. Let “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written: I will…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
