Mark 3:4

Reflection for Today

Let Mark 3:4 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And he saith to them: Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? To save life, or to destroy? But they held their peace.”

Mark does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer. Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Mark 3:4, let “And he saith to them: Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? To…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
