Theme: Holy Spirit
“Who knoweth if the spirit of the children of Adam ascend upward, and if the spirit of the beasts descend downward?”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Ecclesiastes 3:21: “Who knoweth if the spirit of the children of Adam ascend upward, and if the spirit of the beasts descend downward?”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Ecclesiastes belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Ecclesiastes 3:21 close to me. Let “Who knoweth if the spirit of the children of Adam ascend upward, and if the spirit…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
